International Business Machines champions open innovation in enterprise AI

At the VentureBeat conference, IBM's Cox delivered a convincing argument for collaborative development in corporate machine learning. Cox, Vice President of AI models and head at the MIT-IBM Watson AI Lab, stressed the crucial nature of openness in tech progress, especially in the modern AI landscape.
The IBM executive pointed out the multifaceted essence of openness in artificial intelligence, questioning the two-dimensional understanding of the principle. He observed the growing ecosystem of accessible frameworks from diverse origins, including technology corporations, research centers, and governments.
Nonetheless, he articulated reservations about the standard of accessibility in various AI language systems, observing that certain models offer scarcely more than a set of numerical values lacking clarity in their development processes.
